Henning Verlage is very busy as producer and keyboard player in “Unheilig” and “Neuroticfish”, side coach at “The Voice Kids” on SAT.1, lecturer for „Keyboards & Musicproduction“ at the Musikhochschule Munster and author for the magazine “Sound & Recording”.
As an addition to natural light from the windows, Henning wanted a cozy, indirect lighting. So we installed LED strips on all of the A100 wall modules.
For top level control room acoustics we installed our new ceiling module the BAB270 in addition to tuned Masterlabs and A100 broadband absorbers. The new acoustic module comes with an integrated heavy layer and effects frequencies above 60 Hz and is therefore predestined for the “pole position” above the mixing desk.
Technical background: with a ceiling height of 250 cm, the first mode between floor and ceiling is situated at about 68 Hz, causing a wave knot at 125 cm above floor height. The typical seated ear height of 120 cm is very close to this value, so a “hole” in the frequency response is the inevitable consequence. A ceiling absorber type BAB270 can significantly reduce this effect.
Henning says: “In my new control room I can work for hours without fatigue. The sound is transparent and authentic even down to low bass frequencies and the atmosphere is extremely pleasant, wonderful!”
