Home Cinema Wave Maxx

Ultimate 3D sound: the reproduction of the new 3D sound formats was our main focus while planning this small but nice home cinema. Our client wanted to use both Dolby Atmos and DTS-X for movies and Auro 3D for music playback. Altogether we planned six ceiling loudspeakers for this project to cover the different positions for the layer of two of the respective concepts. Thus, a very flexible concept, which is also equipped for the coming years, evolved in the former guest room (562 x 406 x 285 cm).

In addition to the main speakers and four subwoofers in the SBA array the front wall behind the acoustically transparent screen houses our proven concept of adjusted bass traps (B610A) and broadband bass damping. On the backside in the corners more adjusted bass traps are used to further damp the longitudinal acoustic modes and therefore provide an optimal bass reproduction. On the ceiling we use our A100 absorbers as well as our black colored diffusors RPG Skyline.

But surely the two sidewalls are the special eye-catchers of this room. In order not to damp the room too strongly but still not to get hard and direct reflections at the listening position we decided to create a wave-shaped reflection area. We realized this area in visually appealing bamboo real wood veneer that matches the bamboo parquet floor.
